Chemical Barriers

Our technicians are able to implement a chemical barrier around your premises, preventing termites from gaining access. To implement the barrier, we will need to dig a slight trench around garden areas or drill from 150mm to 400mm in concreted areas – removing pavers where necessary.

After this, we will inject the chemical Fiprinol into the designated areas. Fiprinol is a non-repellent substance, which means that termites that come into contact with the substance will take it back to the nest – infecting the colony at its source and lessening the chance of repeat infestations.

Your chemical barrier will require regular top ups to remain effective. As such, we will install a reticulation pipe – similar to a garden hose – so that the required chemicals can be easily administered. We will ensure you receive the information required to maintain your chemical barrier in the long term and keep invading termites at bay.

Baiting & Monitoring

If it is the case that a termite barrier is not practical at your property, we are able to set up baiting and monitoring systems. These take the form of stations – typically positioned 3 metres apart – which require no digging or drilling to install.

Each station contains an attractant that lures in termites. Once inside the station, termites are infected with a substance that they will transfer to their colony – wiping out the source of the infestation.

Our expert team will advise you as to whether baiting and monitoring or a termite barrier is most effective at your property. We will ensure you receive the right system for safeguarding your property from termite infestation. Our team can take on jobs for commercial and residential properties.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long do chemical termite barriers last?

This depends on the specific chemical used. However, most modern termite barriers can last up to 8 years before requiring a top up.

  • How can I tell if I have a termite infestation?

There are a few warning signs to be mindful of. If you notice that doors or windows are harder to open, or small burrows in wooden surfaces, termites could be the culprit. Also, if you notice soft clicking emanating from walls, termites may be present. If you suspect you have an infestation, it’s strongly advised that you contact a pest controller as soon as possible so they can conduct an assessment.

  • I have found a termite nest at my property. Should I spray it?

If you’ve found a nest at your property, it is advisable not to disturb it. Spraying or destroying the nest could make the termites harder to control. It is strongly recommended that you call a trained professional so they can implement the most effective method to destroy the infestation.
